Privacy policy
Pictoquest limits data processing to what is useful for operating, securing and protecting the website. It does not use advertising profiling and aims to explain in plain language what may happen when you browse the directory or use the AI Answer page.

Browsing and technical logs
When you visit Pictoquest, the hosting provider may process technical data required for security, diagnosis and availability. This may include an IP address, date and time, requested resource, browser type and similar technical information. These logs help operate the website, identify faults and limit abuse; Pictoquest does not use them to build an advertising profile.
Favourites and local preferences
Directory favourites are stored only in your browser’s local storage. They allow a selection to be found again on the same device without creating an account. The list is not sent to Pictoquest and does not follow you between browsers. You can change it in the directory or remove it completely by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
AI answer service
When you submit a request through the AI Answer page, the text is sent to OpenAI, the default configured model provider, so that a response can be generated. Pictoquest does not request application-level storage of the response. A pseudonymised technical fingerprint and temporary counter are used to limit abuse and protect availability. Do not enter unnecessary personal data, confidential information, trade secrets, passwords, health data or professionally privileged material. Review the answer before using it because a model may produce inaccurate or incomplete information.
Technical security cookie
The AI Answer page uses a strictly necessary session cookie to protect the form against fraudulent submissions. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking, cannot be accessed by browser scripts and expires at the end of the session.
External links
The directory links to official third-party services and generally opens them in a new tab. Once you leave Pictoquest, the visited service may collect its own data, set trackers or ask you to create an account. Its own terms and privacy policy then apply independently. Read them before uploading a document or beginning professional use.
Retention and security
Technical information retained by the infrastructure should remain limited to the time required for operation, security and incident handling. Pictoquest follows a minimisation approach: an item of information should not be requested when the service can work without it. As no online system is entirely risk-free, visitors should also avoid sending sensitive material through public website fields.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law and the data concerned, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction, or object to certain processing. A request should identify the relevant situation without disclosing more information than necessary. You may also contact the competent supervisory authority if you believe your rights have not been respected. Contact details are provided in the legal notice.
